NVTC Board Member Companies Host FCPS Students on Tours
Five NVTC Board member companies hosted more than 250 high school students for corporate tours and information sessions. In partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools, this initiative provided students a chance to meet professionals in a myriad of career fields in the technology industry. The students learned about the expectations of the technology industry, and received tips on interviewing and encouragement to “find their passion.”
Each corporate tour was interactive and provided students the opportunity to ask valuable questions and speak one-on-one with the individual employees. "NVTC appreciates the support of its Board member companies. This commitment to the region’s students reinforces the connection between academic achievement and career planning," said The Entrepreneur Center @NVTC Director Kristin D’Amore. "Because of our Board members' support, talented students from our region's schools were able to learn about local career opportunities and the importance of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, as well as business and technical education for our business community."
