Matthew McQueen
Sector Director, Strategic and External Communications
Northrop Grumman Information Systems

Matt McQueen serves as sector director of strategic and external communications for Northrop Grumman Corporation's Information Systems sector. In this capacity he acts as the primary spokesperson and communications liaison to the sector's external stakeholders. He is responsible for the sector's integrated strategic communications campaigns, executive communications and media relations.

Before his current assignment, McQueen served as the corporation's government relations lead for all state and local activities, as well as representing Northrop Grumman's civilian agency, tax, and environmental legislative issues to the United States Congress. Prior to his appointment to corporate government relations, he spent more than a decade with the company's information systems sector where he was most recently sector director of government and industry relations within its Washington operations organization. In this role, McQueen was responsible for leading all government relations activities in support of the sector's civilian agencies and state and local government businesses. Prior to that assignment, he held positions of increasing responsibility in business development, strategic planning and market development within Northrop Grumman's commercial, state and local group and civilian agencies group, each of which had more than $1 billion in annual revenue. He began his career as an international policy analyst for Bank Austria in Vienna, Austria.

McQueen has been active in local and national politics for more than fifteen years, advising many campaigns on domestic and regional policy issues and constituent messaging. In 2009, he received a gubernatorial appointment to serve as the consumer representative to the Commonwealth of Virginia's Motor Vehicle Dealer Board. He is a 2011 graduate of LEAD VIRGINIA and serves on the board of directors of many industry and community organizations, including: LEAD VIRGINIA, Celebrate Fairfax! Inc., Computer C.O.R.E., TechAmerica Public Sector SLG, the Northern Virginia Technology Council's TechPAC, the Lorton Arts Foundation, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, the California VetFund Foundation and The Cashel Group.

McQueen earned a bachelor's degree in international relations from the College of Wooster and a master's degree in organizational science and management from The George Washington University where he was a graduate fellow in organizational management, specializing in crisis communications and international marketing.

Mark Gambill
Chief Marketing Officer

Mark Gambill joined Vocus as Chief Marketing Officer in 2013 and is responsible for building and strengthening Vocus' brand in the marketing cloud arena. Gambill leverages his significant Fortune 500 and technology company marketing experience to enhance the marketing functions at Vocus. Prior to joining Vocus, Gambill held executive roles with CDW, Dell, and most recently, with the Home Depot, where he drove the company's digital and social marketing strategy and overall media programs.

A graduate of Florida State University with a B.S. in marketing, Gambill is a member of the Advisory Board for the Mobile Marketing Association, as well as the AdComm and CMO councils.

Karen Gardner
Chief Marketing Officer

Karen Gardner, the chief marketing officer at Sonatype, is responsible for creating and implementing marketing strategies to drive revenue growth and market share. Her priority is on building a cohesive strategy for the defining the brand, enabling sales, gaining 'air-cover' and generating demand that converts to revenue. Gardner brings more than 20 years of high-tech marketing expertise working in both small startups and large global organizations. Before joining Sonatype, Gardner was the senior vice president of Global Marketing for Software AG and was a key member of the Global Leadership Team (GLT) that drove one of the biggest turnaround stories of a European high tech company - doubling revenues to €1 billion and profits to €175 million.

Patrick Smith
Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Communications
Deltek Inc.

Patrick Smith is a proven marketing professional with 16 years of experience developing and managing marketing strategies for both enterprise software and financial services firms.

Currently, Smith runs corporate marketing and communications for Deltek, a global enterprise software company with 16,000 customers around the world. He has responsibility for building and promoting Deltek's global brand, telling the Deltek corporate and solution story in compelling ways, and driving demand for the company. In his current role, Smith is responsible for many components of the B2B marketing equation including advertising, branding, corporate/solution messaging creation, customer and corporate lead generation programs, industry analyst relations, online marketing (website, SEO, SEM), marketing communications, public relations, and sales and marketing asset creation.

Before joining Deltek in 2007, Smith was vice president of marketing for SC&H Group, a Top 100 CPA firm. Prior to SC&H, he was the director of product marketing at supply chain software leader Manugistics, a company he joined in 2000. Smith also held leadership roles at First USA Bank and Intel Corporation before Manugistics.

Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business logistics from Penn State University (1996) where he was valedictorian of the Smeal College of Business Administration. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland (2006).
