Keynote Spotlight: David Shedd

We’re thrilled to welcome David Shedd, acclaimed author of The Great Heist: China’s Epic Campaign to Steal America’s Secrets.

Get ready for a powerful, eye-opening conversation as Jennifer Taylor sits down with David Shedd for a candid interview on one of the most important issues shaping our future. Together, they’ll explore how the Chinese Communist Party carried out what many consider the largest theft of intellectual property, technology, and data in history—and how it continues to influence the global balance of power.

This conversation will also take a deeper look at the historical context, including China’s entry into the World Trade Organization, and what it means for the United States today—especially in an era defined by generative AI, infrastructure competition, and an increasingly complex global landscape.

David R. Shedd is a national security and intelligence professional with nearly 33 years of U.S. government service. He served as Acting Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2014 following four years as Deputy Director, and previously held senior roles at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the National Security Council.
