Filling the Tech Talent Gap COI: AWS Tech Alliance

On October 27, NVTC’s Filling the Tech Talent Gap Community of Interest and the Skills to Jobs team at Amazon Web Services are hosting a Tech Alliance meeting for employers to discuss skills pathways to entry-level tech jobs in DMV. Through the Tech Alliance, AWS is collaborating with George Mason University, UVA and Northern Virginia Community College to align programs of study to in demand, entry-level job roles to meet the hiring needs of AWS customers in the DMV area. During this session we will:
- Share updates on employer demand for entry level tech roles (with special focus on Cloud Support Associate, Data Analyst and Software Developer Engineer)
- Discuss employer engagement within existing skills-based pathways to tech jobs in DMV
- Review opportunities for employer collaboration with institutions through the Tech Alliance (including review of AWS Skills Maps)
- Provide specific opportunities for you to get involved in shaping and hiring from the regional talent pipeline
