Congratulations to the following winners:

NVTC Associate Member of the Year: Consumer Electronics Association - The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) is the nonprofit technology trade association representing and promoting growth in the $211 billion U.S. consumer electronics industry. Earlier this year, CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro spearheaded the creation of U.S. Tech Vets, the national expansion of the NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative online community and job board. Through CEA’s support, U.S. Tech Vets is connecting thousands of veterans with employment opportunities across the technology sector. CEA actively supports the Entrepreneur Center @NVTC and sponsors most of NVTC’s major programs throughout the year. CEA is also a vocal advocate for policies that make Northern Virginia and the Commonwealth more business-friendly and to help attract the best and brightest to the area.

Tech Executive of the Year: Teresa Carlson, Amazon Web Services - As Vice President, Teresa Carlson heads Amazon Web Services Worldwide Public Sector, which provides cloud computing to over 800 government entities, over 3,000 educational institutions and over 10,000 nonprofit organizations. She is responsible for strategy, sales and business development, charged with driving both revenue and partnership strategy across Public Sector in all geographies. Teresa has a long history of engagement in the technology community, championing programs that build the talent pool in Northern Virginia and help to create a new generation of leaders.

Innovative Use of Technology: CSC and Monster Government Solutions (Tie) -

CSC, for its “DECKSTER” live dashboard displays: Deckster by CSC is a lightweight web-based visualization framework that displays dynamic infographics to meet customers’ most complex visualization needs. Users interact with cards that display complex data in a quick, easily digestible format such as charts, graphs, maps, and tables. Cards are tiled in the user’s screen in a dashboard layout, and can be sequenced or organized depending on user preference or the user’s role. Deckster’s cards, which dynamically refresh to show live data, can interact with each other in an unlimited number of ways including expanding other cards, highlighting data in other cards, or even scrolling to a specific location in another card.

Monster Government Solutions, for its Military Skills translator: Monster’s Military.com Military Skills Translator leverages Military.com’s deep institutional knowledge of military and veteran affairs and Monster’s award-winning talent recruitment and management software to provide veterans with an in-depth, comprehensive, multifaceted picture of how their service skills can be applied in the corporate world. Veterans can input information about their military service and job titles, education, as well as secondary, tertiary and civilian skills. The Monster tool then automatically presents a list of current job openings that match the veterans’ skills on the very same page. The tool has a proven record of enabling more transitioning veteran service members to be matched with careers that align with their unique skills sets.

Tech Company of the Year Under $50 Million in Revenue: Zoomdata Inc. - Zoomdata, developers of a fast big data exploration, visualization and analytics platform, lets business users see and interact with data in all new ways. Designed as a mobile and touch first experience, its patented micro-query architecture delivers results on billions of records in seconds and gives users a single plane of glass for bridging old data and new data. Zoomdata’s technology architecture is designed to work with any existing data source and it doesn’t store data or force users to push/pull data into yet another existing system.

Tech Company of the Year Over $50 Million in Revenue: Vencore - Vencore is a proven information solutions, engineering and analytics company that helps customers across government solve their most complex challenges. The company’s innovations in cyber security, data analysis and technology, and its focus on research, ensure it remains ahead of the ever changing demands in the market. Vencore has positioned itself for growth, and, through a series of acquisitions, has not only doubled in size - both personnel and revenue - but also nearly doubled its portfolio of offerings, allowing the company to expand its reach into a broader range of markets.
