Today's rapid expansion in mobile app development is taking the world by storm and the security implications of this expansion are tremendous. As the amount of personal information stored in mobile devices grows exponentially, so do the vulnerabilities and cybersecurity threats to this data. With the federal government as one of the largest purchasers of mobile apps, what does it take to certify apps for the government and meet their stringent security standards?
Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) is the gatekeeper for all of the Department of Defense and knowing DISA's mobile app security certifications requirements is critical. Join the Technology Innovations Committee for an engaging discussion with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Mobility Division Chief Mobility Engineer Gregory Youst on the certification process DISA uses to vet mobile apps.

Destination Innovation 2014 featured a competition of 16 of the region's innovators who discussed their innovative technology, including why it is disruptive and how it solves a real-world problem. The companies, divided into social, commerce, government and security categories, were selected by online votes submitted during a competition on the Capital Business website. After listening to two minute pitches from each of the innovators, attendees at the event voted for one company in each category and the top two companies from each category moved on to the final round of the program.
The final round consisted of a head-to-head competition between the remaining two companies in each category. A panel of experts asked the competing companies questions about their innovations, markets and business strategies. The winner in each category - LynxFit by Byte an Atom Research (Social), Homesnap (Commerce), LMI (Government), and Key Cybersecurity (Security) - was decided by the expert panel.
The event also featured keynote remarks from SocialRadar's Michael Chasen and former HP CEO Carly Fiorina.
