Bid Protests: Best Practices for Effective Prosecution of and Intervention in Bid Protests

In today's highly competitive market for government contracts, bid protests are a common part of the procurement process. Each week, decisions are issued by the GAO or the Court of Federal Claims that impact the rationale for deciding to protest an award where a contractor is unsuccessful. In addition, as the winning bidder, without a strong understanding of the process or the arguments that can be raised - you could be at risk without intervening to defend your award.

This information is crucial when deciding whether to file a protest after receiving a debriefing, a notice that someone else won the award, or a solicitation that is poorly crafted or written so that your chances of winning are limited. Please join the Technology Law & Procurement Committee for a discussion on options tied to bid protests that will help you:

    • Maximize your debriefing with the government
    • Understand the GAO's timeliness rules
    • Identify the protest grounds that provide the greatest likelihood of success
    • Understand recent trends in protest
    • Determine if you should file a protest

This event is pending approval for attendees to receive 1.5 Continuing Legal Education credit hours.
