Curtis is a results-oriented executive with more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in the federal government contracting industry. A hands-on leader who sets the highest standards of performance and ethics for himself and his management team, Curtis is best known for his strategic planning, business development and management skills.
Prior to joining the SI, Curtis was a senior advisor at Veritas Capital, where he was a board member of numerous portfolio companies. He also utilized his significant operational and M&A skills in evaluating acquisitions and future market opportunities. Curtis was president and CEO of Vangent, where he spearheaded the company's strategic expansion into the healthcare market, positioning Vangent as one of the largest nongovernment providers of healthcare information in the U.S. With Curtis as the driving force, Vangent was one of the industry's fastest-growing consulting, systems integration and business process outsourcing companies, with revenues in excess of $760 million and subsequently sold to General Dynamics in 2011.
During his career, Mac has served as the president and CEO of Pearson Government Solutions, which was sold to Veritas Capital in 2007. Prior to joining Pearson, he was a senior vice president of the Information & Enterprise Technology Group at DynCorp International. Curtis holds a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Virginia Military Institute. He was named a 2011 Federal 100 Award winner by Federal Computer Week in recognition of his leadership in the federal government IT and was selected as a 2015 WASH100 top leader.
Curtis is a board member of Vencore and previously served on the boards for Truven Health Analytics and CRGT. He is a former chairman of the Professional Services Council and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for the George Mason University School of Engineering, the Intelligence and National Security Association Advisory Board and as the 2015 Chairperson for the DC American Heart Walk event for the American Heart Association.
