Cybersecurity Committee MeetingNovember 18, 2015
The goal of DHS' Automated Indicator Sharing (AIS) initiative is to achieve near-real-time sharing of cyber threat indicators between DHS's National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC), other departments and agencies, and the private sector. AIS enables the automated, near-real-time ability to: (1) receive indicators from the private sector and other non-governmental entities; (2) filter and sanitize indicators of personally identifiable and other sensitive information for privacy, civil liberty, and compliance obligations; (3) disseminate those indicators amongst the relevant federal departments and agencies as well as the critical infrastructure Sector Specific Agencies (SSAs) and the private sector.
Preston Werntz, lead for the AIS effort for DHS.
