Space isn’t just about exploration—it’s a driver of innovation, economic growth, and real-world solutions here on Earth. With the recent Artemis II mission marking a major step forward in returning humans to deep space, the conversation around why space matters has never been more urgent.
At this pivotal moment, NVTC welcomes keynote speaker Maj. Gen. Charles F. Bolden, Jr. (USMC-Ret.), former NASA Administrator and astronaut, one of the few leaders to have shaped space policy from the highest levels and flown missions beyond Earth.
Over a distinguished career spanning the Marine Corps, NASA, and national leadership, Bolden piloted four Space Shuttle missions and later led NASA through a transformative era. His leadership helped advance next-generation programs like the Space Launch System and Orion, accelerate the rise of commercial spaceflight, and deliver historic milestones including the Curiosity rover landing on Mars.
What he’ll cover:
🚀 Why space matters now—through the lens of national strategy, global competition, and the next era of human exploration
🛰️ How space investment translates into breakthrough technologies across industries
🌍 The role of space in solving real-world challenges—from climate to communications
Why this is different:
Bolden brings a rare, firsthand perspective, from orbit to the Oval Office, on how space exploration, policy, and industry intersect. This isn’t theoretical. It’s insight shaped by decades at the center of the mission.
Bottom line:
The future of space is directly connected to our future here at home—and few people are better equipped to explain why than those who’ve led it.
