Michael Corkery

As Deltek's chief executive officer, Michael Corkery is the driving force behind Deltek's mission of delivering superior enterprise software, information solutions and consulting services to project-based businesses worldwide. Corkery leads more than 2,400 employees who serve Deltek's 22,000 customers across 80 countries around the world. Prior to becoming CEO in December 2012, Corkery was the company's CFO since joining the company in January 2010.
Prior to Deltek, he was CFO and acting CEO for ICO Global Communications, a global satellite communications company. In this role, Corkery led ICO's day-to-day operational and financial activities, as well as those of its subsidiary, DBSD North America, Inc. Before ICO Global Communications, he held various senior financial and operational executive positions for a variety of leading technology companies.
Corkery was CFO of Current Group, LLC, a company providing innovative smart grid solutions to utility companies worldwide. In addition, he served as vice president, Operations Finance at Nextel Communications. Before joining Nextel, he also held the positions of CFO for Berliner Communications, vice president of Market Finance for XO Communications and vice resident, Business Planning & Analysis for AT&T Wireless.
Corkery has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Bonaventure University and an Executive Leadership Development Certification from The McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He was named SmartCXO CFO of the Year by
Washington SmartCEO Magazine in 2012, and in 2013 he was named Private Company CFO of the Year by the Northern Virginia Technology Council. In 2015, he was included in the Wash100, a group of the Top 100 most influential leaders in the government contracting industry.
Corkery currently serves as a Board Member for the Year Up National Capital Region (NCR) and for the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC). He is also a member of the executive committee for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's National Capital Region Light the Night Walk and the Board of Trustees of Flint Hill School in Oakton, Va.
