John Wasson serves as president and chief executive officer of ICF. During his twenty plus years as a senior leader within the firm, ICF has rapidly become one of the most dynamic and successful consultancies in the industry. Starting with one office in Washington D.C., ICF now has over 7,000 employees across more than 70 offices worldwide. The company has doubled in size every five years over the past two decades and in the process has also greatly expanded its array of capabilities and services offered.

John joined ICF in 1987 as an associate and has led client work in the areas of energy, environment, transportation, public health and disaster recovery, among others. He was appointed CEO on October 1, 2019 and previously served as chief operating officer.

In addition to being an NVTC board member, John is also a member of the Dean’s Executive Committee for the College of Engineering at the University of California (UC), Davis and previously served as chair. John has also been recognized by UC Davis with an Outstanding Alumnus Award and the Distinguished Alumni Medal for Business Achievement. In 2021, John was also recognized as a Wash100 and Virginia 500 award recipient and for his leadership and efforts to drive company growth. 

John received his Master of Science degree from the Technology and Policy Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
