John Ustica is the Interim CEO of Siemens Government Technologies (SGT), Inc., the separate but affiliated U.S. government arm of technology powerhouse Siemens. With project teams throughout the U.S. and overseas, SGT is a cleared provider of Siemens products, technologies, and software to solve some of the most complex government challenges in energy, automation and digitalization.
In his role as CEO, Ustica leads a dynamic project-focused organization working on transformative initiatives that are unlocking new levels of energy efficiency and resiliency across military bases and depots, with over $1 billion in energy programs and services under contract today. SGT technologists are at the forefront of digital transformation in government, by helping customers deploy product lifecycle management software tools and digital twins connecting the real and virtual worlds to optimize operations, predict outcomes more accurately, and reduce overall costs.
Ustica joined SGT in 2018 as Chief Financial Officer and has more than 20 years’ experience in effectively serving Siemens’ customers around the world. He has led diverse teams spanning functions from finance to plant operations and strategy, developing a unique depth of blended technical and operational knowledge of the Siemens advanced technology portfolio. Prior to SGT, he was the General Manager for Generator Products at the Siemens Energy Facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he also led strategic product initiatives for the global generator manufacturing network.
Recognized for his contributions to local communities and industry, Ustica was named to the “Top 40 Business Leaders Under 40” by the Charlotte Business Journal in 2018, and in 2021, he received WashingtonExec’s Chief Officer Award as Public Company CFO of the Year for his innovation, expertise and thought leadership within the government contracting space. He serves on the board of directors for Tri-Tool Inc., and the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
Ustica holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Rollins College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Central Florida.
