Jeff Novak is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Verizon Media, which reaches more than a billion consumers worldwide through sites like HuffPost, TechCrunch, Yahoo! Finance and Sports, Tumblr, and MAKERS. He previously managed public policy, litigation and compliance for AOL, where he was part of a legal team that helped manage AOL's turnaround from a dial-up ISP to an advertising platform and content business that was the first Internet company to win an Emmy and the first to win a Pulitzer Prize before it was acquired by Verizon in 2015. AOL's legal department has been recognized as the Association of Corporate Counsel's Legal Department of the Year and by the Virginia State Bar and the Fairfax Bar Association for its pro bono partnership with McGuireWoods.

Prior to joining AOL in 2003, Novak was a partner at McGuireWoods; a law clerk to the Honorable Charles R. Richey, U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia; and a law clerk to William B. Cummings, formerly the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Novak has chaired NVTC's TechPAC since 2014 and serves as an honorary member of NVTC's Executive Committee. He co-chaired Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring's Transition Committee in 2013 and, most recently, he served on Virginia Governor Ralph Northam's Transition Committee. Novak and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Sherwin Novak, a pediatric cardiologist at Children's National in Washington, D.C. and fellow native Northern Virginian, have five children and love to volunteer, travel, golf, hike, scuba dive, and ski.
