On Tuesday, March 10, Congressman Don Beyer joined the NVTC Board of Directors at LMI in McLean to discuss his vision and agenda for his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Beyer outlined his legislative goals, particularly economic growth and transformation, climate change and women’s economic empowerment. He specifically addressed infrastructure, trade promotion, immigration reform, cybersecurity and making the R&D tax credit permanent. In addition, he highlighted America’s comparative and competitive advantage in high tech infrastructure and asked NVTC and its members to help him articulate a vision for high tech growth in America.
During a question and answer session, Rep. Beyer addressed questions about patent law reform, the budget, federal investments in R&D, H1-B visas and the need to fix the skills mismatch in the nation’s labor market.
