Winners of the 2013 Innovator Awards Announced at TechCelebration: NVTC's Annual Banquet

On Wednesday, Oct. 30 at TechCelebration: NVTC’s annual banquet, NVTC announced the winners of the 2013 Innovator Awards, a new awards program honoring groundbreaking companies and technologies in our region's technology community.

Congratulations to the winners:

Systems Development category winner Agilex developed an integrated methodology to help federal agencies capitalize on smartphones and tablets. More than a dozen federal agencies have engaged the company to capitalize on this methodology to successfully deploy mobile devices with custom-built applications across their enterprise operations. Agilex addresses the end-to-end requirements associated with mobilizing mission programs building mobile enterprise systems for core agency missions.

Cloud category winner BrightContext is an ultra-scalable, cloud-based data stream processing platform that can be used for stream analytics, live visualization, monitoring, and generating alerts from any high-volume data source. BrightContext is self-service and easy-to-use, and works in most environments, providing the agility to deliver immediate insight in an increasingly fast-paced, data-driven world.

Cyber category winner Invincea brings to market a new technology for combatting cybercrime, nation state attacks and attacks driven by hacktivists. Invincea's technology acts as a protective bubble that encapsulates users anytime they come into contact with untrusted content from the Internet or the email client. Its tool can detect and kill malware even when the malware has never been seen before in the wild.

Mobility category winner Mobile System 7 secures enterprise data and mitigates the risks posed by threats, such as compromised mobile devices, botnets, malware, and passwords exposed via phishing attacks. The company’s Interlock product utilizes powerful credit card-like analytics to identify and understand the “context” of individual requests for enterprise data and services. Additionally, by integrating persistent monitoring capabilities, real time controls and data driven analytics, Mobile System 7 ensures enterprises have the flexibility to adapt as new threats and business needs emerge.
