On Thursday, Jan. 24, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell held a press conference at the Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon to promote his recently introduced transportation plan. NVTC expressed its support for the governor’s transportation package in a statement released on Jan. 18.

During the press conference, NVTC President and CEO Bobbie Kilberg reiterated NVTC’s support of the governor’s plan. In her remarks, Kilberg commended the governor for his leadership in elevating transportation funding as a priority issue before the General Assembly this year and for proposing “new, long-term, sustainable and dedicated funding sources that will keep pace with Virginia's economic growth.”
Jim Corcoran, president of the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, and Brad Boland, president-elect of the Virginia Association of Realtors, also spoke at the event.
