Last Thursday, more than 35 NVTC members attended a briefing at the White House on Startup America, the White House's new campaign to accelerate high-growth entrepreneurship throughout the United States.
During the briefing, attendees learned about the Startup America Partnership, an independent alliance of the country's most innovative entrepreneurs, corporations, foundations, universities and other leaders working to increase the prevalence and success of U.S. entrepreneurs. Carl Schramm, president and CEO of the Kauffman Foundation and founding board member of the Startup America Partnership, explained how the Partnership aims to expand entrepreneurship education, increase the supply of entrepreneurs and create an upturn in the success rate of entrepreneurs by reducing non-market obstacles.
The Startup America initiative features both Obama Administration and private sector commitments to connect mentors and entrepreneurs and accelerate innovation. To read more about the commitments, click here.
