Last week, Gov. Bob McDonnell announced the launch of the enhanced Virginia Business One Stop (BOS) website, www.bos.virginia.gov, developed jointly by the Secretary of Technology and the Department of Business Assistance. The new website is a streamlined tool to serve the needs of new, existing and small business entrepreneurs.
The new BOS is designed to support economic development and job creation by giving easy access to both state and federal resources. Information is targeted to those: considering starting a business, ready to start a business, running an established business, or looking to expand their business. The site also provides information about specific advantages Virginia has to offer and the path to operating in Virginia for those with companies outside of the state.
The enhanced website currently integrates and shares information with six state agencies that serve businesses in Virginia: the Department of Taxation, Department of General Services, Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, the Virginia Employment Commission, the Department of Business Assistance and the Department of Minority Business Enterprise.
