On Wed. August 29, NVTC President and CEO Bobbie Kilberg attended a major economic development announcement and groundbreaking ceremony by Micron Technology in Manassas. The event featured remarks by Gov. Ralph Northam, Micron President and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra and other local and state elected officials. NVTC Board members Tim Sands of Virginia Tech, Scott Ralls of Northern Virginia Community College and Ángel Cabrera of George Mason University also attended the announcement event.
Micron will invest $3 billion by 2030 to increase memory production at its Manassas plant, creating approximately 1,100 new jobs over the next decade to support Micron's leadership in the rapidly growing market for high quality, high reliability memory products. Read Micron’s announcement here.
