Inaugural CXO Auction Raises Funds for NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative

On Weds., Feb. 4, NVTC hosted its inaugural CXO Auction at Ferrari & Maserati of Washington in Dulles. The event raised funds for the NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative, which provides tools and resources to match veterans with employment opportunities in Virginia's technology community.

Chuck Bell
NBC4 Meteorologist Chuck Bell served as emcee for the evening.

During the event, which was emceed by the charismatic Chuck Bell of NBC4, attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres while bidding on and rubbing elbows with c-level executives from technology’s leading companies. The bidders competed electronically to win one-on-one meetings with regional and industry leaders, and some auction packages went beyond a meeting to include lunch, dinner or wine tasting. A popular package even included a homemade Italian dinner at the executive’s home.

Auctioned executives were CEOs, CTOs, CIOs, CFOs and CMOs with a total combined budget of more than $1 billion to spend on tech solutions in 2015-2016. Winning bidders are guaranteed a meeting with their auctioned executive within 12 months, during which they can gain insight, pitch future plans or receive advice. Every dollar of the winning bids goes directly to the NVTC Foundation in support of NVTC’s programs to connect veterans to civilian careers in the region’s technology industry.

Congratulations to the winning bidders and thank you to all the auctioned executives for committing their time and expertise on behalf of the NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative!
