NVTC Board Members and Members Participate in Workforce Futures Meeting

On Wednesday, December 7, 68 members of the Northern Virginia business and education community gathered at AOL in Dulles, Va., to discuss critical workforce challenges in Northern Virginia. Led by NVTC Board Member Bob Templin, president of Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), the workforce initiative meeting was designed to engage business, education and political leaders across Northern Virginia in developing an outcome-driven strategy to produce meaningful and sustainable results in the area of workforce development.

Convened jointly by NVCC, NVTC, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, the chambers of commerce of Arlington, Loudoun and Prince William Counties, and school superintendents from across the region, the meeting offered local business leaders an opportunity to learn about workforce research compiled by GMU and the Northern Virginia Regional Commission as well as innovative workforce programs already underway.

Those in attendance included NVTC President and CEO Bobbie Kilberg and other NVTC Board members Dr. Jack Dale of Fairfax County Public Schools, Enrico Della Corna of PNC Bank, Jerry Gordon of Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, Raj Narasimhan of Micron Technology, Rob Quartel of NTELX, Templin, and John Wood of Telos, as well as 21 representatives of NVTC Board member companies and organizations, and 11 individuals from NVTC member companies.
