Deltek Donates Backpacks and School Supplies to EFF Clubhouses

On Friday, December 2, the Equal Footing Foundation (EFF) received 150 backpacks as part of Deltek’s worldwide charitable initiative. For the past three years, Deltek has included EFF as one of its charities during the Helps for the Holidays event – an annual tradition at Deltek that gives employees a chance to gather together to do some good in the community, observe the closing of another year and just have a good time.

Each year, the bags are stuffed with various school supplies and distributed to Northern Virginia’s next generation of community leaders, giving them the tools they need to focus on their education. The book bags contained pens, erasers, staplers and staples, paper and note books, white out, highlighters, markers, 4GB thumb drives, calculators, tape and glue sticks. Taking a cue from Deltek’s own corporate values and health initiatives, this year the book bags also included a water bottle, pedometer and a hand-written note of encouragement from a Deltek employee.

EFF distributes the backpacks to different Clubhouses and centers – and the kids love them! Colleen Hahn, president/executive director for EFF, would like to thank NVTC Board member and Deltek CEO Kevin Parker, EFF Board member Holly Kortright of Deltek, and the Deltek Cares Team for putting together such a meaningful event and working together in pursuit of the same impactful goal – changing the lives of those in need.

As part of this year’s Helps for the Holidays event, more than 350 Deltek employees came together in Herndon, Va., to help EFF and other organizations including the Year-up Foundation, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Loudoun & the Reston Interfaith Relief organizations and Lab Rescue.
