NVTC Sends Letter to Loudoun County School Board Supporting Loudoun Math & IT Academy

On Wednesday, October 12, NVTC sent a letter to Loudoun County School Board Superintendent Dr. Edgar Hatrick and members of the Loudoun County School Board formally expressing its support of the Loudoun Math & IT Academy's charter school application in Loudoun County.

In the letter, NVTC outlined its concern that the growth potential of Virginia's technology industry is at risk due to a limited number of qualified technology workers graduating from the local public education system. To increase the potential workforce, Virginia must support educational programs and initiatives in STEM-related (science, technology, engineering and math) fields that equip our youth with the skills necessary to work in the high-tech economy. NVTC believes the innovative program presented by the Loudoun Math & IT Academy will allow more students to participate in STEM learning practices and grow our regional technology workforce.
