More Than 600 Nerds Race to Benefit Equal Footing Foundation at the 4th Annual Run! Geek! Run! 8K

On Saturday, September 17, the 4th annual Run! Geek! Run! 8K brought together more than 600 registrants from the technology and running community to support the Equal Footing Foundation. Novice and competitive runners alike experienced the region's first taste of fall racing weather as they ran through West Potomac Park on Saturday morning.

Nine new event records were set during the race. Ryan Witters of Washington, D.C., won the race with a time of 25:56, while Anna Holt-Gosselin from Vienna, Va., finished first for the women with her time of 28:29. Witters and Holt-Gosselin led their team, the GRC Racing Team, to a first-place finish in the team challenge, followed by the team from HHMI – one of the event sponsors.
