On Monday, June 25, NVTC hosted its sixth annual NVTC Foundation Sporting Clays Tournament. 112 shooters competed on the 15-station course at the Bull Run Shooting Center in Centreville, Va. The tournament raised over $25,000 for the NVTC Foundation in support of the NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative (VEI) and has collectively raised more than $115,000 over its tournament history.

VEI Executive Director Steve Jordon opened the event by welcoming participants and sponsors, before opening remarks by Tony Crescenzo, CEO of top tournament sponsor, IntelliDyne, LLC, and VEI Task Force Co-Chair. The VEI which started in 2013, connects Veterans and military spouses to employment, mentorship, apprenticeship, internship and education opportunities within Virginia's technology community and providing support to NVTC member companies in their efforts to hire, train and retain qualified Veteran and military spouse employees. Since the VEI was launched 12,000 Veterans have been hired by Virginia Values Veterans-certified (V3) NVTC member companies and its career site- USTechVets.org- is used by over 700 corporate recruiters.

Following the tournament, participants enjoyed a delicious lunch donated by Mission BBQ, raffles for gift cards, a Mission BBQ gift basket and Bull Run Shooting Center gear, as well as a silent auction which featured a VIP package to a Washington Nationals baseball game (donated by Monster and Military.com), a Flags of Valor handmade wooden American flag, and a shotgun.
