NVTC President and CEO Bobbie Kilberg Participates In White House Discussion on Tax Reform, Government IT Modernization and Innovation

On June 20, NVTC President and CEO Bobbie Kilberg participated in a White House Tech Week Listening Session in the Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, Senior Advisor to the President and National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn and White House Director of Strategic Initiatives Chris Liddell. The meeting began with a description of the White House tax reform proposal by Secretary Mnuchin and Director Cohn, followed by a discussion.

Following that discussion, Chris Liddell led an interactive conversation on government IT modernization and innovation. Topics included citizen services, data access, cloud computing and infrastructure, use of the commercial cloud, cybersecurity, network architecture defenses, data analytics and leveraging big data to solve problems, the technology workforce, the H-1B Visa program, partnerships with the private sector and academics, and future trends. The attendees agreed to participate further in addressing these topics.
