2016 Legislative Session Convenes in Richmond

Wednesday, Jan. 13 marks the first day of the 2016 Legislative Session of the Virginia General Assembly. This year's session is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, March 12.

On January 5, NVTC President and CEO Bobbie Kilberg sent NVTC's 2016 Legislative Agenda to all members of the Virginia General Assembly and to the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and senior officials of the McAuliffe administration outlining NVTC's 2016 legislative priorities.

NVTC Bill Tracking Index

NVTC members are encouraged to visit NVTC's 2016 General Assembly Session page for information about the ongoing legislative session in Richmond. NVTC also will be compiling an expansive bill tracking index for select bills of interest to NVTC members. Data is provided by The Division of Legislative Automated Systems (DLAS) and will be updated weekly during session.

NVTC Weekly Legislative Conference Calls

NVTC's members are invited to participate in weekly legislative conference calls with the NVTC advocacy team. Beginning Friday, Jan. 22, and recurring each Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. through March 11, our advocacy team will update participants on the activity in Richmond. These calls offer a valuable opportunity to stay connected to what's going on in Richmond and provide advice and feedback to NVTC leaders and staff. Please send an email to Troy Murphy if you would like to receive notice and call-in information for NVTC's weekly conference calls.

NVTC maintains a full-time presence in Richmond during the legislative session, and we welcome your feedback. Feel free to contact us at any time with questions, ideas or suggestions:
