Senior Executive Vice President
Mark Swartz helps provide comprehensive financial strategies for individuals and corporate fringe benefit planning for institutional, public and privately-held companies. His focus is on the areas of estate planning, business continuation planning and corporate executive benefits planning. He is a graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he received his Bachelor of Science in business, and is also a graduate of Temple University's School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Swartz has received both his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College, and is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).
Mark Flanagan serves a cross-functional role as a director in Aronson's Employee Benefit Plan Services Group and Tax Practice. He has more than 25 years of experience in the compliance and technical aspects of qualified and non-qualified benefit plans, including plan design, consulting, and technical administration for both companies and individuals. He also is a key member of the firm's benefit plan audit practice as an ERISA resource for the audit teams and plan sponsors.
Flanagan is a frequent speaker on compensation and benefit plan issues and has authored many related articles. He is responsible for keeping the firm and its clients up-to-date on legislative and regulatory changes. Flanagan is a technical advisor for many of the firm's clients across all of its industry groups. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Tom Natoli has more than thirty years of experience in the financial services and telecommunication industries. He has a proven track record of innovative financial management skills and professional client service.
As a financial professional with AXA Advisors for the last twenty-three years, Natoli has worked with business owners, corporations and individual clients to help them address their financial objectives. As a registered representative of AXA Advisors LLC, and an insurance agent of AXA Network LLC, he can also recommend the appropriate products and services to help them achieve those objectives.
Natoli currently holds the CPA, CFP®, ChFC and CLU designations. In addition, he has earned a Retirement Program Certificate from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, for completing the AXA Equitable At Retirementsm education program. He holds a master's degree in financial management from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Siena College in Loudonville, New York.
David Samuels is an accomplished financial executive with more than 20 years of broad-based financial and business experience with publicly traded, venture-backed and privately held businesses, with revenues ranging from pre-revenue to more than $1 billion. He has successfully completed more than $300 million of debt and equity financings, including initial capitalizations and public offerings, and has served as a change agent leading initiatives in M&A, business restructurings, complex financings and operational improvements. He has extensive experience with technology-focused businesses, working with company founders and board members to create and protect shareholder value. He has extensive global investor and investment banking contacts.
Samuels currently serves as the CFO for DrFirst Inc., a national provider of software (SaaS) solutions, services and electronic medication management platforms for the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Samuels previously served as the chief financial and administrative officer for Bioscan Inc., a global provider of diagnostic imaging systems and services, which was acquired by a private equity backed company. Samuels has held CFO roles in a variety of technology-driven businesses during the past sixteen years. He held senior financial leadership positions with respected global services leader HMS Host, formerly Host Marriott Services Corporation (NYSE:HMS) over a ten year period. He began his career in the assurance practice of KPMG LLP.
Samuels holds an MBA in finance and investments from The George Washington University, and a B.S. in accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of Connecticut. He has had additional executive training at The Aspen Institute. He holds a CPA certificate in the State of Maryland.
Samuels is a recipient of the NVTC Greater Washington Technology CFO Award for Community Service, a finalist for CFO of the Year in the Emerging Growth Company category, and was named a CFO of the Year by the Washington Business Journal
in July 2013. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Greater Washington, and on the Board of Governors for the Charles E. Smith Life Communities, one of the largest nonprofit providers of eldercare services in the United States. Samuels has also held leadership roles in the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the Potomac Officers Club (POC), the National Kidney Foundation, Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, and other philanthropic, professional and community organizations. He has been a presenter at industry and investment banking conferences, and has been featured in a variety of industry and professional publications.
