Prior to joining SMARTHINKING, Clark was the co-founder of Landmark Systems Corporation, an enterprise software company located in Reston, Va., that she started with two partners in 1983. She co-authored the company's first product and was responsible for product development, customer service, international sales and strategic marketing functions before assuming the role of CEO in 1994.
Clark is an experienced executive whose leadership helped Landmark grow at an aggressive rate. She continued to serve as CEO of Landmark until 2002 when the company was acquired by ASG Software.
Clark is active in the technology industry as a representative on industry, association and education boards. She is the former chair of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, the nation's largest council dedicated to promoting technological advancement. She serves on the board of Shenandoah University, and is a former board member of both George Mason University and the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges.
She has been recognized with numerous awards including George Mason Alumnus of the Year, KPMG Entrepreneur of the Year, the Earle C. Williams award for leadership in technology, and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. She was also named one of the region's "Most Admired Bosses" by TechWay magazine.
Clark dedicates many hours to being the best - both professionally and personally. She enjoys biking, running, golfing and sailing and was also a driving force behind Landmark's corporate outreach program. Clark and her husband are currently cruising the world on their 72-foot motor yacht.
