NVTC Hosts Technology Workforce Roundtable Discussion with Megan Healy, Chief Workforce Development Advisor to Governor Ralph Northam

On Tuesday, July 31, NVTC held a technology workforce roundtable discussion with Megan Healy, Chief Workforce Development Advisor to Governor Ralph Northam. ICF served as the location sponsor for the event and the meeting was hosted at their headquarters in Fairfax. NVTC Chair Emeritus Sudhakar Kesavan, chairman and CEO of ICF, joined NVTC President & CEO Bobbie Kilberg in providing welcoming remarks. During the meeting, Healy provided a briefing on the Northam Administration's current and planned workforce initiatives, activities and priorities. NVTC members in attendance shared their initiatives, ideas and challenges and the discussion focused on ways the technology business community can work closely with the Northam Administration in developing the technology workforce pipeline moving forward. Attendees included NVTC technology employers, NVTC's Academic Partners Northern Virginia Community College and Virginia Tech, and other NVTC members in the technology workforce space. Virginia Deputy Secretary of Commerce for Technology Robby Demeria also participated in the meeting.

As Chief Workforce Development Advisor for the Commonwealth of Virginia and a member of the Governor's cabinet, Healy oversees a range of regional, state and federal programs that connect Virginians to the skills, training and opportunities they need to thrive in the 21st century economy. She works closely with Virginia's labor and business communities to identify and fill vacant jobs in high-demand sectors including IT, healthcare and energy.
