Fifth Annual NVTC Foundation Sporting Clays Tournament Raises Over $20,000 for Veteran and Military Spouse Employment

On Monday, June 25, NVTC hosted the fifth annual NVTC Foundation Sporting Clays Tournament. Over 120 participants competed on the 15-station course at Bull Run Shooting Center in Centreville, Va. The tournament raised over $20,000 for the NVTC Foundation in support of the NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative (VEI).

VEI Executive Director Steve Jordon opened the event by welcoming participants and sponsors, before remarks by Tony Crescenzo, CEO of Top Tournament Sponsor, IntelliDyne, LLC, and VEI Task Force Co-Chair. Congresswoman Barbara Comstock also addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of engaging Veteran and military spouse talent in today’s workforce.

The VEI is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its efforts to connect Veterans and military spouses to employment opportunities within Virginia's technology community and providing support to NVTC member companies in their efforts to hire, train and retain qualified Veteran and military spouse employees. Since the VEI was launched in 2018, over 12,000 Veterans have been hired by Virginia Values Veterans-certified (V3) NVTC member companies.

Following the tournament, participants enjoyed a delicious lunch donated by Mission BBQ, raffles for Fair Winds Brewing Company, Mission BBQ and Bull Run Shooting Center packages, and a silent auction, that included a VIP Wolf Trap ticket package (donated by the Wolf Trap Foundation), a VIP Nationals package (donated by and, a Flags of Valor handmade wooden American flag (donated by Flags of Valor), a shotgun and a night and breakfast at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner (donated by The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner).

Kent Hill of Award Sponsor Dominion Energy and Steve Jordon presented the tournament awards. First place in the tournament went to the IntelliDyne team, which included Tony Crescenzo, Craig Janus, Grand Lettieri and Paul Lettieri.

The IntelliDyne team took first place at Sporting Clays.

In second place was the Dominion Energy team, which included Robert Farmer, Kent Hill, Tom Martin and Bryan Smith.

Third place went to the Jacobs team of Eric Davenport, Brian Galuski, Ed Lachance and Alan Meek.

Monster Government Solutions Executive Vice President and VEI Task Force Co-Chair Steve Cooker closed the event with his remarks.
