Tech Talent Initiative - Workforce Development

Tech Talent Employer Collaborative

NVTC has begun a full-scale implementation of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) methodology with the end goal of creating a business-driven self-sustaining model that addresses the regional technology workforce gaps, both in skills and capacity.

To guide TPM implementation and address the talent needs of the region's technology community, NVTC has launched the Tech Talent Employer Collaborative. The Employer Collaborative brings together senior HR/talent acquisition leaders from NVTC member companies to address the shared workforce needs of local technology employers.

Participate in the Employer Collaborative

Ideal collaborative participants are human capital leaders who are knowledgeable about their organization's current human capital demand and future needs, as well as the skills, competencies and certifications that are needed to support those job openings. Executive-suite sponsors also are invited to join the Employer Collaborative to help guide NVTC's efforts and drive company engagement in the collaborative.

Employer Collaborative members participate in a regularly-scheduled meeting series held in the Tysons-Dulles corridor, where participants share best practices and identify opportunities for further inquiry through group discussion. Members identify shared needs, identify the skills, responsibilities, competencies and credentials required to support those shared needs, engage in demand planning to project the potential number of hires associated with the role(s), guide the creation of job profiles that aggregate those shared needs, back-map talent flows to identify where comparable recent hires came from to identify existing and underutilized talent providers and sources, and develop metrics and incentives to measure ROI for their participation and for talent providers, all of which is used to create a regional workforce pipeline aligned to business' needs.
