Tour of Virginia Tech's FutureHaus
Virginia Tech's award-winning FutureHAUS is currently set up in the Potomac Yard neighborhood of Alexandria and features a host of products and features designed to create an energy net-positive house. The house won first place in the global Solar Decathalon in Dubai earlier this year.
Many of the features were designed by NVTC members, including Dominion Energy who is serving as the presenting sponsor.
The house also highlights a host of design features that address aging-in-place, affordable housing, housing for individuals with disabilities, environmental sustainability, etc.
It really is the house of the future and the Sustainable Energy and NEXTGen Committees have arranged a tour of the house for committee members.
