Security Preparedness for SMBs to Work with Corporations
Presented by the NVTC Cybersecurity & Privacy Committee
Security Preparedness for SMBs to Work with Larger Corporations: SOC (Service and Organization Controls) Compliance
Small and midsize businesses (SMBs) that want to provide services for large businesses must be compliant with certain information technology (IT) cybersecurity and privacy requirements. A leading method to demonstrate best practice cyber security is to obtain a SOC 2 certification. This requires a significant investment of time and effort but it is a prerequisite to compete to win contracts with large businesses. The program will include an explanation of the basics and requirements of the SOC 2 certification process from a SOC 2 process expert, insights from CEOs of two SMBs that have recently completed he process, a short panel discussion and audience Q&A.
