Masters of Leadership: U.S. Majority Whip James E. Clyburn

The Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Consumer Technology Association are pleased to announce a new leadership event series, Masters of Leadership, that will showcase innovative management strategies and bold leadership principles from some of the most prominent public figures and business leaders in our country.

U.S. House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.) will join Gary Shapiro, NVTC's board member and Consumer Technology Association's CEO, in the next installment of our Masters of Leadership virtual event series.

Congressman Clyburn, the third-ranking Democrat in the United States House of Representatives, will share key principles that guide his leadership style along with insights on what it will take to restart the country’s economy following the COVID-19 pandemic as well as his thoughts on the Nation’s social unrest.

Congressman Clyburn is well known for his commitment to “Making America’s Greatness Accessible and Affordable for All.” Most recently Clyburn and the House Rural Broadband Task Force, spearheaded the $100 billion broadband portion of the Democrats $1.5T green infrastructure plan. The plan dedicates $100 billion to bring affordable high-speed internet to served and unserved areas of the U.S.

He currently serves as the Chairman of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis. He is also the Chairman of the Rural Broadband Task Force and Democratic Faith Working Group.
