Masters of Leadership: Congresswoman S. Murphy-POSTPONED

This event has been postponed. New date will be announced soon.

The Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Consumer Technology Association are pleased to announce a new leadership event series,
Masters of Leadership, that will showcase innovative management strategies and bold leadership principles from some of the most prominent public figures and business leaders in our country.

U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) will join Gary Shapiro, NVTC's board member and Consumer Technology Association's CEO, in the next installment of our Masters of Leadership virtual event series.

Congresswoman Murphy will share key principles that guide her leadership style along with insights on what it will take to restart the country’s economy following the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, she will offer both short- and long-term goals and strategies for safely establishing a new normalcy in an effort to position the country for forward progress. Recently, Congresswoman Murphy along with others introduced a bipartisan bill to prevent layoffs by expanding the employee retention tax credit (ERTC). The measure would incentivize businesses of all sizes to retain their employees in active or furloughed status, rather than laying them off, so they continue to receive a paycheck, employer-sponsored health insurance, and other benefits.

She currently serves on the influential House Ways and Means Committee, is a co-chair of the Blue Dog Coalition and is a member of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.
