COVID-19 Federal Spending: Industry Responses & Implications
Presented by NVTC's Digital Transformation Committee
Please note this is a virtual meeting using the Zoom platform.
COVID-19 Federal Spending, Possible Responses, and Implications for Industry
Join us for a discussion with Avascent on the Federal Government’s response to COVID-19 and its implications for government contractors.
The Federal Government has provided over $2 trillion in funding in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This money has been directed to a range of purposes, most critically for immediate health care requirements, income support, and economic stabilization. Federal agencies are also rewriting rules and policies to keep their suppliers afloat and their missions on track.
In this forum, we will discuss which agencies have gained federal funds, and how these resources and revised priorities may impact various sectors of the Federal market. We will also discuss the spectrum of possible government responses to the pandemic, both near- and longer-term, and the role contractors may play in supporting government. We will conclude the session with a framework for thinking about which of these responses and implications may be most likely to come to fruition as the crisis continues to unfold.
This session will be hosted by Doug Berenson and Rachel Jenkins of Avascent. Doug is a Managing Director at Avascent working in the firm’s defense practice. He specializes in analyzing defense and aerospace markets, with particular focus on the macroeconomic, budgetary and programmatic forces shaping them. Rachel is a Principal with the firm, where she leads the Healthcare and Citizen Services practice. She focuses on technology and services markets, advising a diverse set of clients, from leading healthcare providers and insurers to professional and IT services firms, helping them translate macro market trends, customer requirements, and competitive dynamics into sustainable growth strategies.
