Jack graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Upon graduating, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. He went on to graduate from the Armor Basic Officer Leadership Course, Army Reconnaissance Course and the Army Airborne School. In July of 2011 he was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 38th Cavalry Regiment. He deployed to Kandahar Province, Afghanistan in August of 2011 as a Reconnaissance and Scout Platoon Leader in charge of 17 Soldiers, leading over 150 patrols in the Spin Boldak District.
Upon redeployment in 2012, he moved positions and became the Executive Officer of Alpha Company, 163D Military Intelligence Battalion in preparation for a 2013 Afghanistan deployment. He deployed back to Kandahar Province in September of 2013. In December of 2013, he moved to the battalion staff and served as the Assistant S-3 for Current Operations.
He left active duty in November of 2014. Jack continues to serve in the Army Reserves as a Foreign Intelligence Watch Officer in the Army G-2 at the Pentagon. In November of 2014, Jack took a job as a national staffer with Senator Mark Warner of Virginia. In this capacity Jack focused on key budget issues that impact Virginia, to include shipbuilding, cybersecurity and veterans affairs. He was also responsible for drafting letters to the Appropriations Committee regarding the Senator's priorities for defense funding. Jack left the Senator's office in March of 2016, taking a job with the defense contractor Perspecta.
Jack is currently serving as a manager on a systems engineering technical assistance (SETA) contract supporting a customer in the intelligence community. Jack is currently in charge of managing two contract line item numbers (CLINs) ensuring they close on contract value. He has also served as the capture manager on seven engineering change proposals (ECPs) creating millions in on contract growth.
Jack currently serves on the Junior Board of the DC Military Bowl and the Young Professional Committee for the charity Childhelp. He is also currently pursuing a master's degree from Michigan State University.
