Kathryn Falk
Vice President and Market Leader, Northern Virginia Operations
Cox Communications

Kathryn Falk is the vice president and market leader for Northern Virginia Operations for Cox Communications. In this role she is responsible for leading employees and the day-to-day operations of Cox in Northern Virginia, including operational performance, customer experience, employee engagement and talent development, business development, and Cox in the community.

Prior to joining Cox Communications in 2002, Falk served for five years as the president of the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association (VCTA) based in Richmond, Va. Before this Falk was the vice president for Government Relations and head of the Washington Office for the National Exchange Carrier Association, whose membership includes all of the nation's local telephone companies. Prior to her tenure at NECA, Falk led congressional and public relations efforts at the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners on telecommunications, transportation and water issues. Falk began her career on Capitol Hill as an aide to United States Senator Dennis DeConcini of Arizona in the Washington, D.C. office.

Falk serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the Northern Virginia Technology Council, the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association, The University of Virginia's Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership and Women In Cable Telecommunications (WICT) Washington-Baltimore Chapter. She also serves as a member of the Dean's Advisory Council for the George Mason University School of Business. A longtime supporter of community involvement, Falk has led Cox corporate social responsibility efforts including charitable giving, nonprofit support, volunteerism, Cox Charities, Cox Conserves and Cox Connect2Compete a low-income broadband program.

Falk was honored with the National Cable Telecommunications Association's Vanguard Award for Young Leadership in 2006, the highest award in the cable industry. She is a recipient of the WICT Washington Baltimore Chapter's Catalyst Award, the VCTA's President's Award, the VCTA's J.L. Johnson-Roger Beane Award for Pioneering Efforts in Cable TV in Virginia. She was named to the Cable Fax Magazine's Top 35 Regional Executives and the Cable Fax Magazine List of 20 to Watch: Rising Stars in Cable. She was also the proud recipient of the University of Virginia's Sorensen Institute's Expressions of Ideals award.

Falk is a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, Va., where she studied politics and communications and a proud graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools. She is also a graduate of the Cox Enterprises Inc. Executive Development Program including the Outward Bound Professional Program, the Cox Communications Executive Development Program at the University of Georgia Terry School of Business, the WICT Betsy Magness Leadership Institute Fellow program, CTAM University at Harvard Business School and the University of Virginia's Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership's Political Leaders Program.

Falk is a long-time resident of Fairfax County, Va. where she resides today with her husband Paul Brandus and daughter.
