Evan W. Weisel
Principal and Co-Founder
Evan Weisel has 18 years of public relations experience providing strategic counsel to local and national business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) technology companies. Clients have included pre-funded startup companies, VC-backed companies, small and medium-sized businesses and publicly traded Fortune 500 companies.
In 2003, Weisel co-founded Welz & Weisel Communications, which became W2 Communications in 2013. W2 Communications (www.w2comm.com) to provide technology companies with aggressive, proactive and senior-level involvement across all aspects of their communications programs. His firm is committed to partnering with its clients to develop integrated programs (implementing thought leadership and social media platforms with traditional public relations activities) to produce meaningful, long-term results. The firm supports a wide range of technology companies from small startups to large, publicly traded companies.
Prior to launching his own agency, Weisel spent more than a decade in the Washington, D.C., area working in senior-level roles at two boutique technology-focused public relations agencies. Weisel started his career at one of the capital region's largest PR agencies in the early 1990s, Stackig Advertising & Public Relations.
In addition to his appointment as a board member for the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), Weisel currently acts as a board liaison for the Social Media and the Cybersecurity and Privacy committees. He is also actively involved with NVTC's charitable arm, the Equal Footing Foundation. The Foundation's mission is to help fund, launch and sustain Computer Clubhouses that currently serve more than 1,500 youth, many of whom do not have access to technology at home. Weisel founded Run! Geek! Run!, an 8k race that takes place each fall to raise money for the Foundation.
Weisel received his bachelor's degree in communication studies with a focus on public relations from Virginia Tech.
Weisel resides in Alexandria, Va., with his wife, Bridget, and his four children Benjamin, Hannah, Emma and Molly. When he is not running after his kids, he is playing sports including ice hockey and triathlons.
