Accredited Investors: Six Regional Technology Startups to Present Business Concepts at May 5 Entrepreneur Spotlight

Are you an accredited investor looking to learn more about local technology startups? Join The Entrepreneur Center @NVTC as startups seeking seed and early-stage funding present their concepts in front of an audience of accredited investors at the next Entrepreneur Spotlight program, Thursday, May 5.

The Entrepreneur Spotlight program allows both experienced and potential new investors to hear the exciting and innovative ideas of startups pursuing seed funding. Entrepreneur Spotlight focuses on companies that are truly in the startup phase and may only be looking for small amounts of funding.

During the event, the companies will take five minutes to present their business concepts and will have 10 minutes to answer questions from a panel. Event attendance is limited to individuals that qualify as accredited investors.

The program is intended solely to provide attendees an opportunity to learn about new emerging companies and hear directly from these entrepreneurs about what their companies do, how they do it, what markets they address and their plans for future growth. The program is informational only.     NVTC Social Media Committee Social Media Awards Needs Your Nominations by THIS FRIDAY

    The NVTC Social Media Committee is seeking nominations for the Second Annual Social Media Awards Program, honoring organizations that have successfully implemented innovative and unique social media programs (both business-to-business and business-to-consumer).

    The program includes seven categories: best use of Facebook, best use of Twitter, best use of LinkedIn, best use of viral video, best corporate blog, best social media integrated campaign (across more than one social channel) and best use of a geo-location service.

    NVTC Members Total More Than Half of Washingtonian 100 Tech Titans; Bobbie Kilberg, 27 NVTC Board Members and 27 Executives from Member Companies Named to List

    Washingtonian Magazine honors the Potomac Region's top 100 Tech Titans in its May 2011 issue, with current and former NVTC Board members and representatives of NVTC member companies making up more than 50 percent of the list. The Tech Titans list showcases 100 leaders of Washington's tech world who are working to grow the region.

    A total of 28 current and former NVTC Board members were featured in the list, including NVTC Vice Chair Sudhakar Kesavan of ICF International, NVTC Chair Emeritus Donna Morea of CGI, and NVTC President and CEO Bobbie Kilberg.     Small businesses, apply today to become one of the "12 to Watch," an initiative of the United States Senate Productivity and Quality Award Program for Virginia (Virginia SPQA) to promote the participation of selected small businesses in the Virginia SPQA Discovery Program.
