Small Business and Entrepreneur Event Helps Small Technology Companies Do Business with Prime Contractors through Teaming and Partnering

On December 8, the Small Business and Entrepreneur Committee hosted its third annual Teaming, Partnering and Contracting event. The event focused on best practices for teaming in the government contracting space.

Eleven companies from the region participated by talking with and educating smaller businesses about how smaller companies can do business with established companies, what types of partners they are looking for and potential opportunities for teaming in the future. The participating companies interested in partnering, teaming and subcontracting with small businesses at the event were: Alion Science and Technology, Booz Allen Hamilton, CSC, HP Enterprise Services, IBM GBS US Federal and Public Sector, ICF International, LMI, Lockheed Martin, Salient Federal Solutions, Verisign and Verizon Wireless. Several prime contractors have already reported scheduling follow-up meetings with smaller companies they met during the event.

The event also featured an exciting panel consisting of Dovèl Technologies CEO Paul Leslie, Bloomberg Government Senior Data Analyst Paul Murphy, Deltek VP of Federal Information Solutions Kevin Plexico and Transformation Systems Inc. Founder and CEO Marta Wilson. The panel touched on various aspects of teaming in government contracting. Dan Quirk, Partner at Ernst & Young LLP, moderated the event.
