Post Your Summer 2013 Internships on the Commonwealth STEM Industry Internship Program Website
Twenty NVTC member companies have already posted 38 total internships on the Commonwealth STEM Industry Internship Program (CSIIP) website. Provided by the Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) and funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia, this free, centralized online system provides Virginia businesses access to highly qualified students majoring in science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) related fields throughout the Commonwealth.
Originally announced by Virginia Secretary of Education Laura Fornash and Secretary of Technology Jim Duffey at NVTC’s Titans breakfast on Sept. 27, CSIIP aims to connect college and university students majoring in science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) related fields with Virginia companies offering internships.
Virginia companies are encouraged to register and list internships on the CSIIP site soon, as the application process is currently open to students, and student applications are due Jan. 31, 2013. Registered Virginia companies can also search the database of student applications for specific skills, experience and educational background. All student applications are pre-screened by VSGC for eligibility, and student applications include contact information, a writing sample, a resume, GPA, transcripts and letters of reference.
