Workforce Trends in Leading Sectors of the Local EconomyWorkforce & Education Committee Invites you to the second of a three part series exploring workforce trends in leading sectors of the local economy. The committee will be presenting a panel discussion with industry leaders from across the region.
In June, the committee will be exploring the shifting workforce climate in government contracting/services. We will be hearing first hand from human resources and recruitment leaders on how companies are responding to the changing demands of their customers, creative ways that companies are partnering with organizations and educational institutions to effectively build their pipelines of talent, and effective ways to engage and recruit the Veteran community. We will hold a panel discussion with three distinguished guests: Sharon Palmeter, vice president of human resources and recruiting, Dovel Technologies; Mike Bruni, talent acquisition manager, Global Support Group, Leidos; and Cindy Pineda, senior human resources manager, General Dynamics IT.
During the event, the committee hear from three distinguished guests during a panel discussion. The discussion will aim to:
- Outline trends in workforce specific to government contracting.
- Explore forecasted skills gaps and HR strategies from the employer perspective.
- Understand the changing technology and business climate that is driving workforce shifts and recruitment demand.
- Discuss how to tackle some of these challenges in the region.
