NVTC/Washington Technology Government Contractor CTO Innovator Awards
The NVTC/Washington Technology Government Contractor CTO Innovator Awards is a new program designed to recognize chief technology officers within the region's government contracting community for their critical contributions to achieving results for their customers and their leadership within their own companies. These awards will celebrate those individuals who lead the technology charge within their companies, using technology to connect the dots between customer needs and business opportunities.
Candidates from small, medium and large businesses can be nominated by their company, customers, and business partners. An independent panel of leaders from the government contracting community will select the winners, who will be honored by Washington Technology magazine and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) at TechCelebration, NVTC's Annual Banquet in fall 2012.
Nominees in each size category will be judged according to the following criteria:
- Internal Contributions: Has the CTO introduced technology improvements or innovative usage of technology internally that had a significant impact on their company? Has the CTO's leadership promoted excellence within the company? Contributions made by qualified nominees during the award period should include, but are not limited to: Increasing the company's revenue/profitability; winning new customers; expanding service/product offerings; improving company efficiency/productivity.
- Contributions to the Customer: Has the CTO introduced technology improvements or innovative usage of technology that has had a significant impact on a customer or customers? Has the CTO's leadership promoted excellence in the company's service to its customers? Contributions made by qualified nominees during the award period should include, but are not limited to: Implementing new capabilities to meet the customer's mission; improving efficiency/productivity; saving and/or reducing the cost of operations.

The most effective nominations will include a brief company description, a summary of the company's government contracts, highlights of the nominee's accomplishments during the period from July 2011 - June 30, 2012, a letter from the CEO in support of the nominee and a detailed explanation of how the individual meets or surpasses the criteria.
