Mission Statement

Provide awareness and thought leadership in architecture and planning for business and IT success. The committee will facilitate an idea exchange among IT executives by:

  1. Generating awareness through events and seminars on important architectural approaches, issues and solutions.
  2. Providing a forum for business and technology leaders to exchange their ideas, experiences and concerns.
  3. Creating an environment to share information about modeling, methodologies and tools.
  4. Bringing together a focused networking group.

What's New

Event Objectives: 2-3 series panel discussions or keynote speakers from industry leaders or presentations on how to deal with the massive complexity of strategic planning, implementation, execution, transparency, governance, control and security issues.

Topics will center on needs and benefits of large organizations solving complex business problems through the use of systematic architectural approaches. Event topics to be considered include:

  1. Enterprise Architecture and Planning
  2. Integrating Information Security Architecture with other planning initiatives
  3. Use of metrics in improving quality and transparency in business systems

Meetings

B&EA committee kicks off its thought leadership series with a discussion of the role architecture will play in making cloud computing successful. In this series, we will look into the impact of cloud computing on the static (infrastructure) and dynamic (processes) components of an organization.

While cloud computing will simplify infrastructure architecture for most organizations, it may also expose the weaknesses in business and enterprise architecture. During this series, the B&EA committee will highlight how the cloud computing platform connects its own components internally, and how it should align itself with the strategic objectives of the organization for achieving maximum efficacy and prosperity.

With the focus on business and technology leaders, B&EA committee is planning the following events in the coming months:

Leadership Bios

Atul Mathur
IMC Inc


Atul Mathur is vice president of technology at IMC, Inc. He is a seasoned technology professional with more than 16 years of technical management and consulting experience in a variety of industries that include financial, high-tech, process control, automotive, aerospace/defense and e-Commerce.

Mr. Mathur has experience in all the phases of a software development lifecycle including analysis, architecture, design, development, testing, quality assurance and rollout of mission/business-critical software. He has worked with many programming languages and technologies. His technology experience includes systems integration, Web-based systems, SOA, testing and performance tools, real-time distributed systems, and object-oriented analysis and design. He has deep knowledge in the areas of software development processes, software testing and risk management, quality, security, scalability, usability and performance. Prior to IMC he led consulting groups at various product and consulting companies. In 2007, he co-founded a consulting company in Reston, VA and served as vice president of technology.

Mr. Mathur graduated with master's degree in aerospace engineering from Indian Institute of Science, a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Indian Institute of Technology and is a certified PMP. Recently, he was nominated on Architecture and Infrastructure Committee of CIO Council.
