Duffy Mazan

Duffy Mazan is an information technology entrepreneur and investor. He is the founder of FixSense, a developer of location-aware WiFi applications. He is also the Chairman of SolutionWorx, which deploys turnkey information technology infrastructures for small businesses.

Beginning in 1994, Duffy was the CEO and co-founder of Electric Press, one of the first Internet e-commerce companies. He helped sell the company's commercial division to PSInet (NASDAQ: PSIX) in 1998 and its federal division to National Information Consortium (NASDAQ: EGOV) in 1999.

In 1976, he co-founded Renex, an early developer of embedded microprocessor applications, including some of the first multi-protocol routers.

Between Renex and Electric Press, Duffy was the Director of Computer and Information Technology at the National Academy of Sciences. He was also an active participant in the Academy's efforts to improve K-12 math and science education and was the staff officer for the "Reinventing Schools: The Technology is Now" program in 1993.
