Chris Simmons is the Managing Partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP ("PwC") for the Washington Metro Market, which includes PwC offices in Washington, DC; Northern Virginia (Tysons Corner); Baltimore and Richmond (Virginia). Prior to his appointment as the Managing Partner Washington Metro Market, Chris was a member of PwC's United States Leadership Team, and one of eight direct reports on the staff of the CEO. Chris has held a variety of positions within PwC, beginning as a Senior Manager in 1992 in the Mergers and Acquisitions unit within Transaction Services where he advised and led client transactions involving mergers, divestitures and acquisitions. In addition to client-facing activity his entire career, Chris formerly managed all PwC (internal) merger, strategic investment and acquisition activity for the US Firm, in his role as Partner-in-Charge, US Corporate Development. Chris recently served a three-year stint as the firm's Chief Diversity Officer and member of the Human Capital Leadership Team, and led the firm to an unprecedented level of recognition for innovative diversity and people initiatives.
Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1992, Chris was a Vice-President in the Corporate Finance practice at Bankers Trust Company of New York, where he led the analysis and structuring of large leveraged buyout financings, and other finance transactions. Prior to that experience, Chris spent a total of five years in local sales and national marketing positions with IBM (based in Philadelphia) and Wang Laboratories (Lowell, MA), respectively.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Business Administration degrees from Harvard University.
Among other activities, Chris is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and the board of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting.
