Matthew Schwartz is a partner in KPMG's Risk & Compliance practice with more than 12 years of experience providing financial statement audit, information technology audit, risk and control services. Schwartz has experience in financial statement audit, IFRS conversion services, GRC implementations, IT internal audit outsourcing, Sarbanes-Oxley assistance services, IT general control reviews, computer-assisted auditing techniques (CAATs), Service Organization Control reports and system-based application control reviews. His engagement experience is focused in the financial services and software and services industries, but he also has experience in the defense, manufacturing, health care and retail industries. Schwartz is a certified public accountant and certified information systems auditor.
Schwartz has substantial experience leading and coordinating IT audit and advisory engagements. He has served as the partner or engagement project manager with responsibility for planning, budgeting, execution and delivery of IFRS conversions, GRC implementations, Service Organization Control reports, Sarbanes-Oxley assistance engagements, internal audit outsourcing engagements and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 testing of IT systems. He also has provided subject matter knowledge and guidance on Service Organization Control services and the use of CAATs.
